July 7, 2017 The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors met in special session on the above date at 8:00 a.m. in the third floor conference room of the Mahaska County courthouse. Present were the following board members: Chairman Ð Mark Doland; Vice chairman Ð Henry VanWeelden and Member Ð Mark Groenendyk. Also present were Ken Allsup, Osky News; RD Keep, The Sun; Dave Sedivec, Conservation Director; Dorothy Wedgewood; Curt Jager; Linda Fox; Peggy Wright; Steve Dixon; John Hansen; Mike Adkins; Edd Soenke; Russ VanRenterghem, Sheriff; Brent Stam and Susan Brown, Mahaska County Auditor. Chairman Doland opened the meeting at 8:00 a.m. with a moment of silence. It was moved by VanWeelden seconded by Groenendyk to approve the agenda for todayÕs meeting. All present voted aye. Motion carried. Public Comments: None. Director Sedivec presented the recommendation from the Conservation Board that construction of the Environmental Learning Center move forward with a project cost not to exceed $3,675,000 based on low bids received at the bid opening held the previous day. It was moved by VanWeelden seconded by Groenendyk to proceed with the project on recommendation of the Conservation Board with a project cost not to exceed $3,675,000. All present voted aye. Motion carried. Public comments: From the Conservation Board Ð thank you. It was moved by VanWeelden seconded by Groenendyk to adjourn. All present voted aye. Motion carried. Attest:Susan L.
