PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE CITIZENS OF LOWNDES COUNTY
The
Greater Lowndes Planning Commission (GLPC) and the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners
will hold public hearings to consider the following rezoning requests. The location, dates and times of the public hearings are as follows:
Monday, January 29, 2018 - 5:30p.m. Greater Lowndes Planning Commission (public input) Lowndes County South Health District Administrative Office 325 West Savannah Avenue, Valdosta, Georgia
Tuesday, February 13, 2018– 5:30p.m. Lowndes County Board of Commissioners (official public hearing) Lowndes County Judicial and Administrative Complex Commission Chambers, 2nd Floor 327 North Ashley Street, Valdosta, Georgia
CASE NUMBER REZ-2018-01. All or part of Tax Map 0146C - Parcel 304. Notice is hereby given that an application by Anthony & Sandra Simmons to amend the Zoning Map of Lowndes County, Georgia will be considered at a public hearing. The amendment to be considered is to rezone 0.89 acres from its present R-10 (Suburban Density Residential) zoning district to C-G (General Commercial) zoning district. The subjectproperty is located at 3881 Bemiss Road, V aldosta,Georgia.

Notice is hereby given that an application by Jackson R. CASE NUMBER REZ-2018-03. All or part of Tax Map 0128B - Parcel 004. Notice is hereby given that an application by Cody Calif on behalf of Diana Guy to amend the Zoning Map of Lowndes County, Georgia will be considered at a public hearing. The amendment to be considered is to rezone 4.04 acres from its present C-G (General Commercial) zoning district to C-G (General Commercial) and C-H (Highway Commercial) zoning district. The subject property is located at 2497 Madison Highway, Valdosta, Georgia.
Any comments may be presented at the public hearings, or filed in writing prior to the public hearings. Also, review of the above applications is available in the Zoning Administrator’s Office located at 327 North Ashley Street.
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 36-67A-3, any opponent of this proposed rezoning who has made campaign contributions aggregating $250.00 or more to a local government official of Lowndes County Board of Commissioners, within two years immediately preceding the filing of the application, is required to file a disclosure statement, at least five days prior to the hearing, with the Zoning Administrator, stating the name and position of the local official to whom contributions were made, the amount, description and date of each campaign contribution.
